Antoinette Leatherberry
Tonie became the Managing Principal of Deloitte’s $300 million northeast regional data analytics practice where she led a team of over 2,000 professionals. As a Deloitte Chief Information Officer Program Fellow, Tonie coaches CIOs and CTOs of complex, global companies on information technology transformation and operational issues. Tonie also led Deloitte’s Board Advisory Practice where she provided strategic advice to the boards of Deloitte’s most preeminent clients.
Tonie served as the DuPont, Corteva and Chemours LCSP and LCP, a member of the Deloitte Consulting board of directors, and three of Deloitte’s most important governing committees including the Nominating, CEO succession, and senior leader compensation committees.
Tonie serves on the boards of Zoetis Inc. where she serves on the Audit and Compensation committees; American Family Insurance Company where she serves on the Risk and People, Compensation and Rewards committees; and as lead director and Chair of the compensation for Direct Digital Holdings. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Widener University and Boston University. Tonie is an Associate Certified Coach issued by the International Coaching Federation. Tonie serves on the Widener University Board of Trustees (where she chairs the Trusteeship committee), and the Boston University Board of Trustees, as well as North Carolina A&T, Business School Advisory Board.
Tonie served as the Board Relations Leader for the Risk and Financial Advisory practice, she was responsible for marketplace positioning and opportunities through innovation, thought leadership and engagement that address the needs of Corporate Board Directors and senior executives. Tonie has devoted herself to creating opportunities for women and people of color. At Deloitte, she was the principal architect of The Board Leadership Forum and NextGen CEO Academy, which led to 70 Black leaders reaching executive and board roles. Tonie is the Immediate Past Chair of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC). As recent Chair of the ELC, Tonie created the Chairman’s Council of Academic Achievement to address achievement gaps for Black students in America’s educational systems. Tonie served as the President of the Deloitte Foundation, the mission of which is to drive initiatives to develop future leaders through education. In this role she has overseen the distribution of over $50M in grants to 400+ schools.
Tonie has authored numerous articles and whitepapers for Deloitte, NACD Directorship, Directors and Boards, and many other publications including co-authoring Technology and the Boardroom: The CIO’s Guide to Engaging the Board published by Harvard Law School’s Forum on Corporate Governance (2019). Tonie’s achievements have been widely recognized including: Consulting Magazine’s Top 25 Consultants; NACD Directorship 100 (2019, 2020); Black Enterprise’s Most Powerful Women in Business; and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She has an MBA in Operations from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering from Boston University. An advocate of lifelong learning, Tonie is pursuing a doctorate in higher education at Widener University.
